Margaret King has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector and has been part of the executive management team for two internationally recognized nonprofit institutions. In addition to raising millions of dollars for her clients, she has broad experience raising capital support as well as developing and organizing nonprofit boards and advisory councils. She is a highly–skilled fundraiser and researcher and is the founder/president of InfoRich Group, Inc.
She also speaks and writes about contemporary fundraising issues. Her writings include: FUMSI Magazine’s “Research: A Strategy For Raising A Million Dollars” (the online version of this article has had more than 12,000 views) and Fundraising Success Magazine’s “Focus on Prospect Research: What You Don’t Know—and How it Can Hurt You.” She has been quoted in Money Magazine, Inc. Magazine, Delaware County News, and in a number of books, including, Building and Running a Successful Research Business by Mary Ellen Bates, The Reluctant Entrepreneur by Mary Ellen Bates, and Research on Main Street by Marcy Phelps.
Marge is an experienced trainer and educator. She has been invited to speak at several Association of Fundraising Professional’s Chapter events, including the Philadelphia, Brandywine (Delaware), Northeast Pennsylvania, and Southern New Jersey chapters. Additionally, Marge has been invited to speak about such fundraising topics as ethics, board development, research, fund diversification, grant writing, at the Spitz National Teacher’s Conference, the North American Maritime Ministry Association’s National Conference, the Pennsylvania Association of Volunteerism Annual Conference, Huntington's Disease Society of America Annual Meeting, and the Association of Independent Information Professionals, among others. She has presented at the Online Information conference in London, UK.
As a member of the adjunct faculty at Delaware County Community College and Eastern University, she teaches business and fundraising courses at graduate and undergraduate levels and is a past instructor for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Greater Philadelphia Chapter. She has served on several nonprofit boards and has evaluated and successfully written multi-million dollar proposals for Government Agencies, including the National Science Foundation and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
She earned a BS from Cabrini College, an MBA from St. Joseph’s University, and completed a post-graduate certificate program at Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association of Independent Information Professionals. She is a board member of the Philadelphia chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, a past-president and board member of the Association of Independent Information Professionals, and former AIIP’s chair of the Industry Relations Committee. As chair of the AIIP Industry Relations Committee, she negotiated contracts with information providers and other vendors to provide access to discounted products/services for AIIP’s members.
